Schools Adventure - Staff and Training
IN2ACTION INSTRUCTORS
Selection and training
Many of our Centre staff have worked for In2action in previous seasons but whether ‘old hands’ or new to In2action, all our instructional staff are selected for an assessment period on the basis of their application form, a minimum of two references, both of which HAVE to be excellent, and the outcome of an enhanced police check via the CRB.
All selected staff then undergo an intensive period of induction and assessment before their contract of employment is confirmed. Staff are chosen for their ability, enthusiasm, friendliness and suitability to work with children.
Staff then move forward to undergo an extensive Training Course where they are trained and assessed to be able to deliver activities to the highest standards. Where a National Governing Body (NGB) have an appropriate qualification, for instance Archery and Snorkelling all staff instructing that activity will complete the relevant NGB qualification. For all other activities, our staff are trained and assessed by our in-house or external technically qualified specialists.
In addition to specific skills instruction, all staff complete a Health and Safety course, as well as training in pastoral care and child protection and welfare.
Instructors are provided with comprehensive Operating Procedures that set strict safety standards and guidelines for the high quality delivery of all activities.
A full list of Instructors names and qualifications is held at the Centre and is available to groups travelling with In2action.
We operate to a strict Code of Practice and our operation is subject to regular audits and inspection by external consultant assessors.
