Length of Contract
Contracts start from mid-June and we have different contract lengths available. Our NCS groups run until mid-August, which is our shortest contract length, but we have a range of opportunities following that, which can include day camps and/or school’s residential work.
Preceding starting work with groups you will take part in a fun and informative training course. Full board and lodging, usually sharing, is supplied free of charge during the training period.
Living on site is great fun and you’ll be guaranteed to make friends for life. You will be accommodated on site in comfortable shared accommodation units that are clean, well-heated and with plenty of hot running water. We deduct a small cost per week from your gross salary for this accommodation, but this includes all heat, light, electricity and bed linen.
Working in such a dynamic role with people is hard work, so you’ll need to keep a good, well balanced diet to sustain your energy levels. We provide all staff with the opportunity to have 3 meals a day in the on-site restaurant - at a greatly reduced cost, which will be set out in your Contract of Employment.
Days and hours worked
Your contract is based on a 6-day, 40 hour working week. However, as each week is different, we ask you to have a flexible approach to this and some weeks may be busier and others quieter.
UK staff accrue paid holidays at the rate of 2 days for every complete month you work. All accrued holiday days must be taken before the end of contract and you may be required to take them at times programmed by us. This often means that you only work 5 1/2 days per week as the other 1/2 day is taken as holiday.
All uniform will be provided before you start work and we’ll ask for your sizes so we can make sure it fits.
Our Insurance doesn’t cover personal property while working in the UK, so if required check any valuable personal property is covered by your own Insurance Policy.
